Thread Deburring –
on the Flanks, at the Entry or Exit
Thread cutting (through thread drilling, thread turning, or thread milling) produces burrs as the cutting edges exit the workpiece material. To maintain thread functionality and prevent injuries during handling, threads must be deburred. Tip: Avoid manual deburring using thread taps, finishing cutters, and cutting oil. Such results are too imprecise, non-reproducible, time-consuming, and require significant skill and experience. Additionally, there is a high risk of damaging the thread despite precautions. It is best to integrate the final deburring step directly into your machine. This reduces costs and throughput times, allows personnel to be deployed elsewhere, and ensures consistent results. Suitable for deburring thread flanks as well as thread entry or exit.
