All critical tool components are hardened. The cutting part, featuring two cross-opposed cutting edges, is made of hardened high-speed steel. An additional surface treatment ensures even longer tool life. The ELLIPTI-BUR is designed so that the cost-effective blade can be easily replaced when needed.
|
The ELLIPTI-BUR consists of a spring-mounted and a self-guiding conical drill head that precisely positions the tool to achieve optimal and consistent results. The ELLIPTI-BUR is initially centered over the hole to be deburred. As the tool advances forward, the drill head is pushed back into the shank against the spring, causing the cutting edge to contact the bore edge.
By feeding the rotating tool to the countersink depth with a short dwell time, the bore is uniformly deburred. Due to the spring-loaded cutting edge, it flexibly centers itself axially and radially on the bore edge, engaging it almost evenly.
