The BURRAWAY tool consists of the base body, the blade, the blade holder, a tension spring, and a locking screw. The blade and spring are also available separately. For Type A/MA, only the front part without the shank is also available.
Two cutter types are offered, which can also be ordered separately. One is a DA blade (Dual Active), which ensures both front-side and back-side deburring in a single operation. The other is a BA blade (Back Active), which deburrs only the back side of the workpiece. The front side is then rounded.
Tools are available in both inch sizes (TYPE A, B, C) and metric sizes (TYPE MA, MB, MC). The adjustment screws for the inch program come with inch threads, while those for the metric program come with metric set screws.
Video 2: Functionality of the Burraway
| 1. DEBURR FRONT SIDE | |
|
Integrated cutting edges remove the burr when the tool is inserted into the hole. The slotted tool shank enables the same operating principle as the BurrAway, the tool deburrs the bore under spring pressure. |
| 2. DEBURR BORE | |
|
When passing through the hole, the cutting edge is pressed into the tool under the spring compressive stress (the rounded and polished cutting edges do not damage the hole surface). |
| 3. DEBURR BACK SIDE | |
|
The cutting edge is extended by the spring tension through the rear exit from the bore. In reverse working feed, the back of the hole is deburred. |
