As in previous years, we participated once again in the 12th specialist conference “Deburring Technologies and Precision Surfaces” held at the Nürtingen City Hall. This meant two days of knowledge exchange and sharing experiences on the ever more demanding requirements in component manufacturing.

On the first day, Steffen Hedrich delivered the presentation “Secondary Burr-Free and Process-Reliable Chamfering,” focusing in particular on four of our tooling solutions.

When chamfering must be performed on defined workpiece contours, the Burrless Chamfering Cutter, awarded the “Best of Industry Award,” is the first choice. Its unique and patented V-shaped cutting geometry ensures no secondary burr formation during machining.

For deburring curved or convex edges and contours, our Back-Burr Cutter & Path deburring system is suitable. Using a specially created NC dataset for the application, it can follow virtually any contour and deburr or chamfer without secondary burrs. When machining undefined contours is required, our ibex deburring system with compensating holder comes into play, capable of compensating dimensional variations of up to 10 mm in tension and compression, thus enabling consistent chamfers.

Our latest development, the reverse chamfering tool “RevCut”, is designed for chamfering bores starting at 1.0 mm diameter and engineered to perform chamfering/countersinking up to twice the bore diameter. Its simple design without a folding mechanism makes the tool very robust and user-friendly, as the cutting edge can be changed directly in the machine.

With around 56 participants, interest on-site that day was high, and the range of technical presentations was broad. Our presentation addressed recurring challenges in chamfering and showcased tooling solutions that simplify every machining operation.
